We are delighted to announce that Graham Sheldon, a very experienced cornet player and bandsman, has agreed to be CSD Brass’s next MD and will take up the baton from Chris Lawrence in September.

In honour of our President, Rodney Newton’s 80th birthday, CSD is presenting a very special summer concert on 20th July 2025, entitled Celebration!
Join us at St Luke’s Church, Victoria Road, at 3pm, to hear some of Rodney’s eclectic output, including the beautiful flugelhorn solo Dimitri, the unique Acid Brass medley Acid Drops and pieces written especially for CSD Brass Cambridge and Gulliver’s Travels.

CSD Brass and Choir 2000 are putting the finishing touches on our performances ready for our joint concerts on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th December! We hope to see you there. Tickets are available here.
Saturday 6th July is the start of Brass Bands Week and we are delighted to be performing in the beautiful market town of Saffron Walden. Come hear us in Jubilee Garden (by Waitrose) between 12 and 2pm, or head over next week to listen to our friends at Hadstock Silver Band perform.
Cambridge has been twinned with Heidelberg, a university city in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, since 1957. For over twenty years, CSD has been linked with a Heidelberg wind band, the Orchesterverein Handschuhsheim. The coronavirus pandemic put our exchanges on hold but we were delighted this Easter to once again host our German friends in Cambridge. We look forward to visiting Heidelberg in 2025.
Seit 1957 unterhält Cambridge eine Städtepartnerschaft mit der baden-württembergischen Universitätsstadt Heidelberg. Seit über zwanzig Jahren ist der CSD mit einem Heidelberger Blasorchester, dem Orchesterverein Handschuhsheim, verbunden. Die Coronavirus-Pandemie hat unseren Austausch auf Eis gelegt, aber wir freuten uns, dieses Ostern erneut unsere deutschen Freunde in Cambridge begrüßen zu dürfen. Wir freuen uns auf einen Besuch in Heidelberg im Jahr 2025.
CSD had a fantastic summer season entertaining audiences in Cambridge, Ely, Swaffham Bulbeck and Newnham College. We are now about to get to work preparing for our Autumn term concert on Sunday 19th November, at 3pm, at St Luke’s Church, Victoria Road, Cambridge.
