CSD Easter Exchange

Cambridge has been twinned with Heidelberg, a university city in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, since 1957. For over twenty years, CSD has been linked with a Heidelberg wind band, the Orchesterverein Handschuhsheim. The coronavirus pandemic put our exchanges on hold but we were delighted this Easter to once again host our German friends in Cambridge. We look forward to visiting Heidelberg in 2025.

CSD looks forward to a glorious banding summer

It was a delight to perform to a full St Luke’s Church in our Spring Concert, and we are now loving getting to grips with a whole lot of new summer repertoire! Featuring lots of the band members’ favourites as well as our own tribute to the King’s coronation and Disney’s centenary there will be lots to put a smile on our audience’s faces. Come along to one of our public gigs this summer to hear us!

Percussionist wanted

CSD Brass is looking for a regular 2nd percussionist who can play kit when our principal percussionist is unable to be with us. All percussionists welcome – no previous experience with brass bands required!

Happy New Year!

We were delighted with our 30th anniversary celebrations and a busy Christmas season to round off 2022 and we are now looking forward to a happy and successful 2023!

New conductor ushers in new era for CSD!

We are delighted to announce that Chris Lawrence ARCM, bursar of Newnham College and former conductor of Junior Prime Brass, has agreed to take up conducting of CSD Brass! We are looking forward to working with Chris, especially during our packed summer programme!
